CBA SKILLED LAWYER SERIES 2017

Workforce Planning: Employee Considerations for the Business Lifecycle

The process of hiring and managing employees is central to the success of a growing business. Lawyers who represent companies that are planning workforce expansion should be aware of the key legal considerations related to compensation, retention and severance entitlements. This session will explore the employment issues that you need to consider when representing a company throughout its legal lifecycle, with a particular focus on successfully on-boarding employees after a transaction.

After this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Understand new developments related to employment standards legislation and how they will impact your template employment agreements
  • Appreciate the use of various forms of compensation as incentives to attract and retain employees
  • Make effective use of certain contractual clauses such as change in control provisions and severance entitlements
  • Provide your clients with practical and effective advice on how to mitigate risk when taking on new employees in connection with a transaction

This is the 6th session of the Legal Lifecycle of a Business webinar series.
