Stephen Roberts is a partner of McTague Law Firm LLP of Windsor, Ontario. Steve was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1982. After more than 15 years in a corporate commercial practice, Steve embarked on a career in workers; compensation law, representing employers. He is a Certified Specialist in the area of Workplace Safety and Insurance Law, certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada. He was a member of the executive of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Ontario Bar Association from 2005 until 2017, serving as the section chair in 2011. He has been one of the most active leaders of our section in advancing collegiality and co-operative advocacy on policy and legislative issues with the Ontario Government, WSIB and WSIAT. He has been an unparalleled leader in the OBA’s professional development programs for the section and the Law Society.

Michael Zacks is the Acting Director of the Office of the Employer Adviser, and has been the OEA’s General Counsel since 1993. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1976. Previously, Michael was Director of Legal Services at the Workers’ Compensation Board and General Counsel and Director of Legal Services for the Ontario Ombudsman’s Office. Michael has been an instructor in Public Law at the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admissions Program for several years. Michael is a most established leader in the education of employers, employer associations and employer organizations. He has been an active member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the OBA, also serving as section chair. He has been a continuous leader in professional development for our section, and a key liaison with the Ministry of Labour and the WSIB.
