Christine Elliott, Patient Ombudsman, will share with us:
- An overview of the functions of the Patient Ombudsman, including patient complaints and investigations
- The trends in patient concerns and the systemic issues that exist and recommendations for changes
- Her comments on the new Quality of Care Information Protection Act, 2016 (coming into force July 1, 2017) and its impact on patients’ requests for information and answers
- The reporting obligations to the Minister of Health and Long Term Care
- The role of Patient Ombudsman in increasing accountability and transparency in the health care system
