Lunch with Jane Rooney - Canada's First Financial Literacy Leader
Canadian Corporate Counsel Association / CCCA Ontario Chapter | Original Program Date: May 13, 2015
There is great momentum building in Canada to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of Canadians to make responsible financial decisions. In April 2014, the Government of Canada appointed Ms. Jane Rooney as Canada's First Financial Literacy Leader to direct the development of a National Strategy.
In her first year as Financial Literacy Leader, Ms. Rooney gained tremendous insight into the needs of particular groups including seniors and 'future' seniors, Canadians with low-incomes, Aboriginal peoples, newcomers, and youth and adults. Please join us on May 13 from 12 - 1:30 for a lunch and a meet and greet with Ms. Rooney. Find out what she has learned and how she has laid the building blocks for a national strategy that will help Canadians to become more financially literate.
This session will be of particular interest to in-house counsel and other lawyers interested in the subject of financial literacy of Canadians.
