Public sector lawyers typically have a wide variety of reporting relationships and accountabilities. In addition to their duties to their client agencies, ministries or other employers, many lawyers working in the public sector are also charged with promoting the "public interest."
Through the use of fact-based scenarios, in "Ethics and Professionalism: The Public Sector Lawyer as an Advocate", our expert panelists will consider: the role of Crown counsel within the adversarial system; whether courts look upon public sector litigators as they do the private bar; the role of public sector client instructions in developing litigation strategy; and litigation with self-represented litigants. This is the second of three lunchtime programs on ethics and professionalism.
