Amalgamations and Wind-Ups

This session explores the business and tax planning reasons for amalgamating several Canadian companies into one, or winding up a Canadian subsidiary company into a Canadian parent company, and why one might be chosen instead of the other. The key tax rules and concepts governing each type of reorganization are reviewed, and tax traps to be aware of are explained.
