Tax Disputes and Risk Management
Total Content Time: 6.5 CPD Hours
This grouping will:
- Describe the assessment procedures of the Canada Revenue Agency;
- Outline the rules for commencing a dispute of those assessments administratively with the Canada Revenue Agency itself and before the courts and provides advice on dispute resolution strategies including settlement;
- Contain a discussion about conducting litigation before the Tax Court of Canada;
- Describe various rules applicable to obtaining leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada and provides advice on conducting litigation before the Supreme Court of Canada;
- Consider practice and ethical dilemmas faced by practitioners in giving advice in specific factual situations; and
- Outline ethics and negligence issues faced by practitioners in their day-to-day practice.
