May 1, 2020 | 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Teleconference
Competition authorities around the world often cooperate with one another as they investigate corporate conduct or review corporate transactions. In Canada, the Competition Bureau has recently indicated that it is seeking to increase its cooperation with its foreign counterparts. In the context of the Competition Bureau’s desire to increase its cooperation with foreign competition authorities, panelists in this session will discuss the following questions related to such cooperation:
- In what ways do international competition authorities interact with one another during multi-jurisdictional investigations and transactions?
- How is increased international cooperation among competition authorities likely to affect enforcement? What concerns is increased cooperation likely to raise for corporate actors?
