Join us for an insightful session led by Surjit Atwal, who will share essential tips and strategies for lawyers on how to effectively engage with the media. This presentation will cover:
Surjit Atwal is a radio broadcast journalist and the host of Eye on the Valley, a show aired on 101.7 FM in British Columbia. His show is live-streamed on the station’s website, reaching audiences across Canada and around the world. Over the years, he has built a reputation for conducting insightful interviews with a wide range of guests, including the Premier of British Columbia, government ministers, Canadian government officials, business leaders, and experts from fields like law, economics, and nonprofit organizations. He was honored with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award for his contributions to journalism.
Before entering journalism, he worked in the provincial government of British Columbia for four years at the legislature. He holds a master’s degree in Human Rights and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Fraser Valley and Athabasca University in Alberta. Over the past five years, he has conducted more than 1,300 interviews, engaging with experts and leaders from around the world, including Australia, Israel, the United States, and the UAE. His work is focused on providing fair, balanced, and in-depth coverage of political issues, and he strives to be a trusted voice in Canadian journalism.
