Remote Wills and Estates Planning: Tips and Traps

Thursday March 11, 2021 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm ET

The Covid-19 landscape has presented new difficulties in how we practice Wills and Estates. The ability to sign documents remotely has opened doors previously closed;  however, extra care must be taken by lawyers advising clients in the virtual environment.

This webinar will provide the tools needed by lawyers to effectively navigate the virtual world in Wills and Estates.

We will first be hearing about the technical elements for the signing itself and some of the requirements for documents that are signed remotely. Our second speaker will be instructing us on practical considerations for the solicitor practicing in a virtual world. We will be learning some tips and traps to mitigate risk and strengthen the effectiveness of online client interactions. Our final speaker will be addressing capacity concerns and how to protect our clients against the risks of undue influence.
