The Rise and Fall of WE Charity
A panel discussion about charity conglomerates: governance, regulation, disclosures, and private benefit.
The WE Charity scandal has raised new questions about complex multi-entity corporate structures in the charitable sector. Many charities which operate under a common brand name are a complex web of not-for-profit and share capital corporations. Some of these webs are logical and transparent. Others are tangled and opaque and may cause confusion for the donor public, give rise to new questions for regulators, or might allow undue private benefit.
The panel brings practical and legal perspectives together in an exploration of these issues.
