2024 CBA Alberta Annual General Meeting


Join colleagues from around Alberta at the 2024 CBA Alberta Annual General Meeting. CBA Alberta Branch President, Kyle Kawanami, will update the membership on the activity of the Branch over the past year and National President John D. Stefaniuk, K.C., will bring greetings on behalf of CBA National.

KEYNOTE PRESENTATION: BUSINESS IN ALBERTA

Calgary and Alberta are well positioned for the years to come but changing business environments can impact the practice of law in the province. Join us for a conversation with Deborah Yedlin, who will discuss Calgary and Alberta's economy, including what we need to maintain our competitive advantage, labour and productivity, and more.

Ms. Yedlin currently serves as President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. She took on the role of stewarding the 132-year-old organization in July 2021, bringing with her experience in capital markets gained while working on Wall Street and Bay Street, two decades of covering Canadian business as a columnist for various media outlets and a unique perspective on the role of post-secondary education in society, having just completed a four-year-term as Chancellor of the University of Calgary.

Since moving to Calgary in 1992, Ms. Yedlin has been very active in the Calgary community. She has served on the boards of a number of arts and community organizations and is currently one of three co-chairs for the $250 million Calgary Cancer Centre fundraising campaign.
