Suicide Awareness
World Mental Health Day is marked every year on October 10 to raise awareness about mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Please join CBA Alberta on World Mental Health Day 2023 for this suicide awareness presentation by the Centre for Suicide Prevention. You will learn common myths and important facts about suicide including who is impacted and why people consider suicide. You will also be introduced to a 4-step guide to having a conversation with someone you are concerned about. Other topics will include the National Study on the Health and Wellness Determinants of Legal Professionals in Canada and community engagement programs related to suicide, such as Buddy Up and Run For Life.
Breakout rooms will be available during this presentation for anyone who wishes to speak privately with a support worker from the Centre for Suicide Prevention.
Registration for this presentation is limited to 50 people to ensure that adequate support workers are available. If you are unable to register and wish to be added to the waitlist, please send an email to mail@cba-alberta.org. If you register but are unable to attend, please cancel your registration so that your space can be made available to someone else. A recording of this presentation will be available after the live presentation has taken place.
