Telecommunications carriers operate under a distinct federal statutory and regulatory regime respecting their rights of entry on to public property (i.e. public highways) to construct, install, maintain, and operate their transmission lines, subject to their obligations to obtain municipal consent. Whether you represent municipalities or telecom providers, you must be equipped to effectively navigate this complex legal and regulatory landscape, particularly in the context of infrastructure deployment, rights-of-way access, and compliance with municipal by-laws.

Our distinguished faculty, representing both private and public sector perspectives, will unravel the complexities and get you up-to-speed on what you need to know, including:

  • Key provisions of the Telecommunications Act (Canada)
  • Essentials of Municipal Access Agreements (MAAs)
  • Municipal by-laws and the scope of municipal consent under the Act

During this program, you will also learn of key Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) rulings affecting carriers and municipalities.

Join your colleagues for an insightful discussion. Register today!
