OBA Franchise Law PROGRAM | 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM (ET)
Franchise Law is often a trap for the unwary lawyer. To an untrained eye, it can sometimes be challenging to identify that a commercial transaction is in fact a franchise arrangement, and even a small business can find itself an accidental franchisor. The consequences of getting it wrong can be significant. According to LawPRO’s most recent statistics the average dollar value of a negligence claim against lawyers in franchise matters was approximately five (5) times the claim value in almost every other area of law.
Part II builds on the foundational elements of Part 1 and is designed to help lawyers better understand how they can provide legal advice to their franchisee clients. This session is well suited to lawyers who wish to expand their knowledge of franchise law, as well as those who wish to develop expertise in franchise law.
