OBA PROGRAM | Original Program Date: May 10, 2023
This program is the second in a series of eight programs that make up the OBA’s Foundations in Judicial Competencies Certificate Program.
In this session, our esteemed panel of jurists will discuss their first 30 days post appointment and share their insights on transitioning from lawyer to judge. This delicate balance between the strict requirements of a judicial appointment and the everyday demands of a judge’s personal life, individual development and family can be challenging to maintain at the best of times.
Gain insight and understanding of the professional changes judges experience: winding down a practice, judicial onboarding processes - shadowing, mentoring and training resources provided as well as the personal life adjustments made by judges: changes to volunteer and social activities, relationships with friends and colleagues and other personal considerations.
