OBA Insurance Law PROGRAM | Original Program Date: January 9, 2023
Ontario is a big province, with many jurisdictions. The practice of day-to-day law can differ in terms of nuance and procedures dependent on where you work. The way things are organized in Toronto courts, are not the way they may be run in the north, west, east and south judicial regions. This CPD brings together judges and lawyers from outside of Toronto to tell us how things are done elsewhere. The specific topics that will be addressed are:
- Judges talk about their expectations for their courts;
- Lawyers discuss the unique procedural features of their jurisdictions; and
- Lawyers discuss the culture of the bar in their specific regions.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about how other court houses are run, and the challenges and opportunities of practicing in other regions.
