OBA Class Actions PROGRAM | Original Program Date: November 9, 2021
Class actions are typically large, complex and hard-fought. Effective case management is essential. This session explores issues relating to case management of multijurisdictional class actions. Is there potential for coordinated case management before and/or after certification? What are the challenges associated with coordinated case management? Is there a potential for joint discovery and how would that work? Are the judges able to engage in informal behind-the-scenes discussions?
Join us for a discussion with The Honourable Justice Matthews of the BC Superior Court and plaintiffs and defence counsel as we grapple with these questions.
