Class action settlements are often complex. They become even more complex when dealing with actions commenced in multiple jurisdictions – particularly when one or more actions are commenced by counsel that are not part of the plaintiffs’ counsel consortium. This session will address strategies for dealing with such actions. This session will also explore options for coordinating the notice and settlement approval process, and oversight of claims administration in multiple jurisdictions.
Join us for a discussion with The Honourable Justice Belobaba from the Ontario Superior Court who has presided over many class actions cases, and two highly experienced class action counsel, Charles Wright and Suzy Kauffman, as they grapple with these issues.
