OBA Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law PROGRAM
Original Program Date: June 12, 2020

The suspension of in-court matters due to the global pandemic and the courts’ desire to move matters forward, have resulted in the rapid innovation of court processes for IP litigation, including virtual hearings and mediations, e-filing and virtual cross-examinations and discoveries. As we look forward to their reopening , courts are keen to continue with the new processes for access to justice and for reasons of efficiency. Join our experienced faculty who will outline the measures IP firms and practitioners are taking, and how practices are evolving as a result, in response to the Federal and Ontario Courts’ modified procedures. Our faculty will also discuss what these changes mean for IP litigation in the long-term, and share experiences, practice tips, and answer questions from the Bar.
