Nov. 24, 2020
Online

OBA Child and Youth Law / Administrative Law / Family Law / Public Sector Lawyers PROGRAM | Original Program Date: November 24, 2020

In May 2019, the Ontario Ombudsman’s mandate was expanded to include investigations about services to children and youth under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017, as the position of Ontario Child Advocate was eliminated.

Join us for a conversation with the Ontario Ombudsman, Paul Dubé, and the Director of the Children and Youth Unit, Diana Cooke, to explore this new mandate, including:

  • What is the Ombudsman’s approach to this new role?
  • What types of complaints have been received to date?
  • How can children and youth in care access the Ombudsman’s services?

If there are topics you would like to discuss and/or questions you would like addressed at the session, please send them to dbrewster@oba.org no later than November 18, 2020.
