This presentation will provide an overview of Rule 57, its purposes and particularities. It will then provide a summary of a few cases on the Rule in Nova Scotia, and end with a discussion on when the Rule could be used—or possibly avoided. Personal anecdotes and examples welcome!

Danielle Keating, Burchells LLP
Danielle is an associate at Burchells LLP where she is building a practice focused primarily on civil litigation and administrative law. She has appeared in all levels of court in Nova Scotia and has also appeared before administrative tribunals in the province.
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys hiking with her partner, practicing yoga, and taking dance classes. She is a member of the Executive of the Board of Governors of the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts, where she studied dance growing up.
