Collective Rights Under Canada's Constitution

Unlike some countries, Canada has constitutionalized certain rights for particular groups or collectivities. There are many cases currently percolating across the country that involve collective rights, which often conflict with the rights of the individual members of the collective.

This webinar will consider collective rights from both the solicitor and barrister perspectives. A panel of experienced practitioners will discuss how legal cases involving collective rights – such as aboriginal, linguistic or educational rights – differ from constitutional challenges based on individual rights. They will also explore the future implications of such cases on the constitutional structure of Canada.
