Greenwashing: Differing Perspectives as the Bureau Works to Finalize its Guidelines

February 20, 2025 | 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom)

The “greenwashing” provisions in the Competition Actintroduced last June create obligations on advertisers regarding environmental claims. The Competition Bureau issued draft guidelines in December, with the consultation period ending on February 28, 2025. In addition, a new private right of action for civil advertising claims, including greenwashing, comes into force in June. Rarely have amendments to the Competition Act garnered so much public attention. Join our panel of experts with diverse viewpoints as they discuss the implications of these new provisions and whether they are fit for purpose.
