The Financial Arrangements between Lawyers and Clients

There are many ways that lawyers are compensated for their services: contingency fee arrangements, blended hourly and contingency fee arrangements, pro and low-bono, hourly rates, fee for service, litigation funding, deferred payment arrangements. How well do these arrangements serve vulnerable clients, and how well do they facilitate access to justice? Are there conflicts inherent in the various compensation models? This panel will look at the ethics of these arrangements from both a lawyer and client perspective.
