The CBA Competition Law Section's Criminal Matters Committee presents:

Deferred Prosecution Agreements in Canada and the US

April 20, 2022 | 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom)

Remediation Agreements, also known as Deferred Prosecution Agreements (DPAs), were introduced in Canada in 2018 to enhance the federal government’s toolkit in the fight against corruption and other white-collar crime. While their use is still being tested in Canada, DPAs have been long-relied upon in other jurisdictions, including in the U.S., to address corporate crime since the 1990s. This session will cover what you need to know about this burgeoning area of law, what we can learn from our neighbours to the south, and what to look out for in the future as DPAs establish their place in the Canadian regulatory regime.
