How to Prepare an Investment Canada Act Notification – FAQ with the Investment Review Division

Notifying the Investment Review Division each time a new Canadian business is established or an existing Canadian business is acquired by a non-Canadian is a legal requirement under the Investment Canada Act. While these notices are routine, they can also be tricky because they require obtaining a significant amount of information about the purchaser, its “ultimate controller”, and the Canadian business being acquired. This session with members of the Investment Review Division and lawyers in private practice will address frequently asked questions about the interpretation of the Investment Canada Act and the Investment Canada Regulations, leaving you with answers to all of the questions you were too embarrassed to ask!
