Day 1 - Friday, November 5, 2021 | 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM ET
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm De-Identification and Pseudonymization
This panel will provide an update on the current state of de-identification technology and techniques, including the emerging use of synthetic data and the different states of data along the spectrum of identifiability. We will also hear about the Canadian court standard for de-identification and the evolving legislative and regulatory landscape pertaining to de-identification and pseudonymization (i.e. Québec Bill 64, Canada’s Bill C-11, the EU GDPR). The panel will explore the increasing role of best practices, codes and standards in this arena (such as CANON/www.deidentify.ca and the CIO Strategy Council’s national standards efforts), and the application of such standards in supporting legislation in Canada and abroad.
