11:00 am - 12:30 pm Federal Courts Town Hall (This session is not sponsored)
The 14th annual forum on IP litigation reform, hosted by CBA and the Federal Courts, allows members of the bench and bar to engage in an open discussion of possible procedural reform in a “town hall” format.
2020 was a year in which we, and the Courts, learned to adapt to litigating in a public pandemic. At the same time, the work of the Courts has continued. We anticipate a review of lessons learned and measures to be adopted in a post-pandemic and post-Vavilov world, with remarks from the the Honourable Chief Justice Crampton of the Federal Court and the Honourable Justice George Locke of the Federal Court of Appeal bookending what we anticipate to be a lively discussion with and among a panel of seasoned judicial officers from the Federal Court.
Speakers:
The Honourable Michael D. Manson, Federal Court
The Honourable Roger R. Lafrenière, Federal Court
The Honourable Angela Furlanetto, Federal Court
The Honourable Christine Pallotta, Federal Court
The Honourable George R. Locke, Federal Court of Appeal
Madam Prothonotary Mandy Aylen, Federal Court
The Honourable Paul Crampton, Federal Court
Moderator:
Beverley Moore, BLG
