The CBA Competition Law and Foreign Investment Review Section's Diversity and Inclusion Network presents:
Diversity and Inclusion and the Practice of Competition Law
September 27, 2021 | 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom)
Topics relating to diversity and inclusion have gained significant attention at law firms, corporations, government agencies and other antitrust circles. Lawyers and economists from diverse backgrounds are becoming more attracted to the field of antitrust law, joining in larger numbers and looking to build and grow careers in the practice. In these times questions arise like: Why is diversity and inclusion important? What is my role in helping open up the practice area in this changing landscape? What further challenges and opportunities are expected as we move forward? While there is no single right answer to these questions, having a discussion on these topics remains timely and important to both strengthen and enrich our practice.
Please join us on Monday, September 27th at 11:00am for a lively panel discussion and Q&A with two experienced competition law practitioners, each of whom is leading the charge in this area in their own way: Dany Assaf (Partner at Torys LLP) and Dr. Antara Dutta (Principal Economist at Amazon). Dany recently authored a book titled, Say Please and Thank You & Stand in Line, in which he shares his experience growing up as Muslim in Edmonton and today’s divisions, and Antara is the Co-Chair of the ABA Antitrust Law Section’s Diversity.Advanced committee, which organizes a wide variety of programming and initiatives to attract, provide visibility to and retain diverse antitrust and consumer protection practitioners and raise awareness in the Section around issues involving diversity, inclusion and equity. We look forward to seeing you there!
