Competition Law in a Changing World
LEAD SPONSOR
Join us from wherever you are on October 18-20 for the CBA Competition Law Fall Conference - Canada’s preeminent event for competition law and policy professionals.
The world is changing. As we (hopefully) come out of the global pandemic, some voices are increasingly calling for a wholesale reassessment of the purpose of competition laws and how those laws should be constituted and applied. There are increasing calls for competition law to focus on more than just consumer welfare and consider environmental and social objectives, fairness, and the robustness of democratic institutions. At the same time, competition laws continue to be cornerstone industrial policy legislation, where the costs of “getting it wrong” could have substantial long-term impacts on Canada’s productivity and prosperity.
The conference brings together all segments of the competition law community and many voices from outside it to share knowledge, experience, and advice regarding Canada’s competition laws as they apply today, and to discuss how Canada’s competition laws might evolve over the next few years.
