Join the Young Lawyers Committee for our virtual Symposium focused on the nuts and bolts of competition law. Each 30 minute substantive session focuses on building practical skills that will set you up for success, and our speed networking event will connect you with the Competition Bar.
• Compliance Nuts & Bolts: Distribution Agreements 101. While reviewing distribution agreements for competition issues is an important skill, young lawyers often do not get such opportunities. This session will provide an overview of distribution agreements, discuss key issues and offer advice to on how to tackle them. You will leave the session prepared to review your first distribution agreement.
• Economics Nuts & Bolts: Through A Hypothetical Merger Scenario. This session will introduce you to common economic concepts and analyses in the merger context. In 30 minutes or less, we will outline a hypothetical merger fact scenario and describe the work economists commonly undertake through the merger review process.
• Mergers Nuts & Bolts: Efficient SIR Compliance. Whether you’re running your first SIR or your fifteenth, there’s always room to pick up a few new tips. This session will give you the tools to manage a SIR effectively and painlessly, from TAR to “ta-da”.
• Speed Networking. Join your colleagues for a speed networking event where you will have an opportunity to meet and mingle with senior members of the Competition Bar. We welcome all interested junior lawyers, economists, and officers.
