The program will provide an overview of key elements Canadian lawyers ought to know when advising clients that intend to or do business with and in Africa. The speakers will focus on:

  • The access to African markets in the context of some key regulations affecting the drafting of contracts and enforcing these contracts, including agency and franchise agreements
  • The process service and enforcement of judgments
  • The strategies to protect and enforce property rights in Africa
  • The corporate social responsibility and human rights considerations
  • The impact of COVID-19 on doing business in Africa
