Mindset Matters: Psychological Self Care for Lawyer Wellbeing
Wellbeing is a critical skill-set and a vital part of a lawyer’s business strategy and success. Developing the skill of wellbeing and growing inner strengths and resources within yourself, profession and the teams you lead is the key to a healthy and happy workplace. This highly interactive webinar will aid in identifying and nurturing inner resources and building wellbeing as a skill and strategy, using a blend of theory and practice backed by evidence-based research. Participants will learn the benefits of honing wellbeing as a skill, and its value to enhance a positive mindset shift through a blend of ancient wisdom, positive psychology and coaching lens.
We will review wellbeing as a skill in the context of building personal leadership and lawyer wellbeing. Participants will identify emerging issues and leadership demands. Together, we will explore mindful, positive ways to slow down in the midst of a frantic pace, and find calm in the midst of competing demands for our time.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the benefits of psychological (emotional/mental) self care and why it’s critical to lawyers’ success
- Discuss and identify durable inner strengths hardwired into the nervous system and target ways in which you can grow them by shifting mindset from the ‘inner critic’ to the ‘compassionate critic’
- Explore different positive adaptive processes to move through adversity
- Assess strategies to broaden the mind and build psychological resources and overall wellbeing (mindfulness, intention, self-compassion, positive reframing, growth mindset)
- Take-away practice exercises to grow and build your inner strengths
