TOPIC: Free, Electronic Legal Research Sources
SPEAKER: Matthew Renaud, Law Librarian, EK Williams Law Library, Robson Hall
The EK Williams Law Library in collaboration with the Advanced Legal Research course, Graduate Seminar, and the Legal Research Section of the Manitoba Bar Association are offering a seminar on free, electronic legal research sources. This seminar will focus on sources such as:
• CanLII (Emphasis will be given to CanLIIDocs, a new feature that gives users free access to various eBooks, Journals and newsletters)
• Google Scholar (finding American case law, for free)
• Sources of Legislation online (CanLII, Governmental websites)
• Hansard debate records
• World Legal Information Institute (WorldLII)
• And many more!
All members of the Robson Hall community and MBA Members are welcome to attend.
Please RSVP to the Manitoba Bar Association online (link above). If you cannot attend in person, there is the option to attend via webinar (choose the webinar option when registering). You will receive log-in information after you have registered, approximately two days before the session. Space is limited for the webinar, so register early.
Attendance at this MBA Section meeting can be applied towards your Law Society of Manitoba's Continuing Professional Development requirement for a maximum of 2 hours.
