TOPIC: Meeting with the Deputy Minister for Seniors and Long Term Care Bernadette Preun
SPEAKER: Deputy Minister for Seniors and Long Term Care Bernadette Preun

The Provincial Government recently appointed Scott Johnston as Minister of Seniors and Long-term Care.  This is the first time the Province has had a ministerial office dedicated to seniors and long-term care.  Please join us as we meet with Deputy Minister Bernadette Preun to hear about the provincial government plans to protect seniors from abuse, to work with the National Draft Standards for Long Term Care Services, and to implement the recommendations from the Maples Personal Care Home Report.  The Deputy Minister will be interested in receiving feedback from our members so your input will be welcome.

Please RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online (link above). The link to join the meeting will be sent out the morning of the meeting.

At approximately 9:30am on Thursday, May 26, 2022 an email will be sent from the MBA advising you of the link that you will click on to join the Zoom video conference meeting.  So it will be important to register before 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Attendance at this MBA Section learning session can be applied towards your Law Society mandatory yearly continuing professional development requirement for 1.5 hours.
