Synopsis
Many young lawyers find themselves before the Provincial Court in a variety of matters and practice areas, from family and criminal, to small claims. Former Judge Paul Meyers provides his unique insight into common pitfalls that young lawyers can avoid and how less experienced counsel can put their best foot forward.
About the Speaker
Former Judge Paul Meyers is an accomplished legal professional with over 25 years of experience as a lawyer and 23 years as a Provincial Court Judge in British Columbia. Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Meyers has conducted trials at every court level in BC, including numerous jury trials. Appointed as a Provincial Court Judge in 1999, Former Judge Meyers presided over criminal, youth, family, and civil trials until his retirement from the bench in 2023. Over this period of time, he also mediated hundreds of settlement conferences.
