Synopsis
Chris Doerksen and Kimberley Anderson discuss recent developments in US securities laws, including early observations in the implementation of rules on cybersecurity, beneficial ownership reporting, and government payments by resource extraction issuers and T+1 settlement.
They also discuss court challenges to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) climate change rules and Nasdaq board diversity rules, a smattering of new SEC and stock exchange rules, the SEC’s latest areas of focus in disclosure reviews, and provide an update regarding the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network beneficial ownership reporting requirements for all U.S. entities.
