Synopsis
Brock Martland, KC, is a Vancouver criminal lawyer who was commission counsel for the Cullen Commission of Inquiry into Money Laundering in BC. He speaks about issues that arise for practitioners when they have clients and cases that might involve criminality. What must lawyers do when they suspect that a client or a party's money is proceeds of crime? Do lawyers risk being unwitting accomplices to money laundering? How has the regulatory landscape shifted in the past few years?
