ONLINE MEETING: Counselling Services for Children - Separation and Divorce
This meeting is being hosted by the Children's Law Section.

Speakers: Dr. Ellie Bolgar, Psy.D. R.C.C.

Synopsis

Dr. Bolgar discusses the different types of counselling services appropriate for children whose parents are separated or divorced. In addition to highlighting the process and benefit of individual, family, and reunification therapy, Dr. Bolgar explains when the therapeutic process could pose harm and long-term negative consequences for the parent-child relationship. Dr. Bolgar shares case examples to provide an understanding of the unique needs of the children in challenging family situations.

Speaker Bio
Dr. Bolgar has worked in clinical settings such as child and youth mental health, child and family counselling centers as a clinical supervisor for over 15 years. In addition to her private practice and teaching Dr. Bolgar provides clinical supervision to counsellors in community-based counselling programs supporting families, children and youth with various behavioral, and emotional difficulties. Dr. Bolgar also prepares section 211 reports.
