Synopsis

Have you ever felt too exhausted to really take the time to design the next stage of your legal career – one that ensures you are honouring your own personal needs and values? Are you a woman lawyer trying to balance the demands of being a senior legal professional, while simultaneously juggling the needs of family members?

The average lawyer retires at age 80 – so for many senior lawyers, this means that we need to explore the next chapter of our career and envision what life will look like, including how we can make self-care a priority to ensure good health and well-being!

Imagine for a moment, having a plan of action as you re-design your career and life – one that is fulfilling and gives you a sense of personal satisfaction and well-being! Perhaps it’s about exploring a new position with a non-profit or finding ways to offer legal services without the stress of billable hours. Or maybe you are curious about what other unique opportunities are out there, and how you can customize your career to allow more time to enjoy your personal life!

Having the freedom to work from anywhere, on your own schedule, might seem like an impossible dream until you put a plan into action. And while taking control of your legal career may have seemed impossible in the past, you are finally at a stage where you are ready to take charge and map out your own path – one that takes into account your health and well-being needs!

Join Health & Self-Care Coach for women in midlife and beyond, Kim Acedo, and lawyer Jo-Anne Stark as they walk you through an informative and practical discussion to consider the possibilities of developing a plan that fits you:

  • What are the trends we are seeing that may impact the future of the legal profession? What opportunities exist in these trends?
  • Is the time right to be transitioning your career or exploring a new career path?
  • How do we manage the unique challenges at this stage in our lives, while honouring our need to take care of ourselves?

This meeting will start with a 30-minute networking lunch. The presentation will start at 12:30pm.
