Keynote Speaker
We are pleased to announce that Judge Marion Buller (Retired) has graciously stepped in as our Keynote Speaker.

Judge Buller will share her insights from career as the first woman First Nations judge in British Columbia to her work as chief commissioner for the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Unfortunately, many students cannot afford the ticket costs, please consider sponsoring a student for this event!
Purchase a ticket and bring a student with you, or sponsor the costs
of a ticket(s), travel, and/or accommodation for students that otherwise would not be able to attend.

2019 ALF Student Appreciation Awards
ALF will be awarding three 2019 ALF Student Appreciation Awards at this event.
One each for UBC, University of Victoria, and TRU Law Schools.
2019 ALF Special Contribution Award
ALF will also be awarding the 2019 ALF Special Contribution Award at this event
This award is given to a law firm or individual that has shown a special and consistent dedication to
Aboriginal people in the field of law. This award recognizes a firm or individual's contribution to the
Aboriginal Lawyers Forum to help us strive to address the various issues facing Aboriginal law students
and lawyers. These issues include the retention of Aboriginal people in the legal profession and the
support and enhancement of the stature and influence of Aboriginal people in the legal profession.
Support a Child in Need
The ALF requests that attendees bring one Christmas gift to be donated to an Indigenous child in foster care, or child connected to a Delegated Agency, Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS).
The price limit will be $30.00.
Please wrap your gift, and attach a note indicating if the gift is for a male or female child, and the approximate
age the gift is intended for. Age ranges for gifts are as follows: 0-2yrs / 3-6yrs / 7-13yrs /14-18yrs
*Please note that law and articled students are not requested to bring a gift but may do so if they wish.
