World Mental Health Day is marked every year on October 10 to raise awareness about mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Please join CBA Alberta on World Mental Health Day 2023 for this suicide awareness presentation by the Centre for Suicide Prevention. You will learn common myths and important facts about suicide including who is impacted and why people consider suicide. You will also be introduced to a 4-step guide to having a conversation with someone you are concerned about. Other topics will include the National Study on the Health and Wellness Determinants of Legal Professionals in Canada and community engagement programs related to suicide, such as Buddy Up and Run For Life.
 


ABOUT THE CENTRE FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION

Centre for Sexuality logoThe Centre for Suicide Prevention is a branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association based in Calgary, Alberta. The Centre for Suicide Prevention has been equipping Canadians with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to people considering suicide for forty years.
