
How business structures and transactions affect separating clients, and recent family law decisions which business law lawyers should be aware of.
Divorces can affect businesses, and business structures/transactions can affect the outcome of a family law dispute. This presentation will review issues that you might encounter in the intersection of business law and family law, including discussing recent Court of Appeal decisions that business law lawyers should be aware of. Ken Proudman teaches the Advanced Family Law course at the University of Alberta, and during the day his practice consists primarily of divorces involving businesses or farms.
