Build your financial literacy: Understanding financial tools (VIDEO)

 

Financial literacy is a fundamental starting point for effective business governance, helping you understand the direct impact of business decisions and the options and opportunities available going forward.  Developing your skills in financial literacy will also prepare you for effective Board service and providing effective financial oversight.

This session is designed to help you understand, interpret, and use financial tools such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, budgets, and financial plans.

Jillian Murdoch, CPA, CA is a Partner and Business advisor with MNP’s Private Enterprise group and leads the Technology, Media and Telecommunication niche in Calgary. Jillian has extensive experience conducting audits and significant knowledge and expertise in auditing specific reporting requirements within the sectors she serves. She assists with compilations, audits and reviews in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises and Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations and advises on a wide range of business issues.
